What people are saying ... (CP Copy)

What People Are Saying

"Club Penguin helped my twins learn computer skills, the value of money and how to decorate their own world. My son also learned the consequences of using a bad word once too! You have a great program and we continue to recommend it to others."

- L. Booker, Maitland, FL

"Searching for a positive alternative to the 'bad stuff' online I turned to my kids and what I found was Club Penguin... We (law enforcement personnel) are all approached by parents asking about where their kids are safe in cyberspace and I don't think this trend will change anytime soon. Impress upon them the need for knowing and understanding what their kids are doing online and consider finding and suggesting safe sites like Club Penguin."

- Dave T., Vancouver BC, Internet Safety Expert and Former Police Officer

"I love the security of Club Penguin. I never worry about what my kids may happen upon while playing."

- Jill B., Stamford, CT

"Club Penguin is a business that I will highly recommend to anyone we know with young children who are looking for a very safe and fun internet activity for kids. Your integrity as a company is inspiring."

- Doug S., Voorhees, NJ

"I am a Grandmother who is an active member of the club, keeping in touch with six grand-children, (ages 4 to 11) via our penguins! I gave them their subscriptions for Christmas. One of them is in America. I am in the UK and it is the easiest way I can think of to 'chat'... It's such fun. Thank you very much. I am officially COOL!"

- Alex J., Cambridgeshire, England

"I just wanted to let you know how awesome your website is. Our 7- year-old son underwent a bone marrow transplant... He and his brother joined Club Penguin before we left for the hospital, so they could play the game together... We will never forget what Club Penguin has meant to our family during this stressful time."

- Anne R., Long Beach IN

"Thank you for putting so much thought and care into such a wonderful and safe environment for our children. My son heard about it from his cousin, and now four of my children get to play online together at the same time..."

- Lisa P., Hubbardsville NY

"I have two little penguins who love your site! My sons are 11 and 6... I researched your site carefully and sat with him several times, watching him waddle around your site. I think it is a refreshing alternative from what I've been seeing. I love the "safe mode" feature. I even feel comfortable letting my 6-year-old play..."

- Valerie P., Bemidji MN

"Many parents, like me, have been very hesitant to allow our kids to play on the computer and especially to go onto websites. [Club Penguin] makes us all feel safe and leaves our kids in a great mood after playing."

- Tracey S., Santa Monica, CA

Club Penguin's wacky stuff

So, if you'll cross through that, you might be falling or else, you'll be confused and your penguin will be hypnotized! Your penguin will be sleep walking or flying in the sky. Joke! It was wacky.

Soundtrack

The Powerpuff Girls Z: Original Soundtrack was released in Japanese stores on June 27, 2007. The CD contains TV sized versions of the show's opening and ending themes (although the song, Jig THE Upper, is the version that was featured on the single released by Hoi Festa and not the one used in the actual show,) a party mix of the show's music produced by TAICHI MASTER, and character songs sung by Emiri Katou, Nami Miyahara and Machiko Kawana. The supplied booklet also contains pre-production artwork, including a variety of concept designs for the Powerpuff Girls Z and other series characters.

Video Game

A video game entitled Game de Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z for the Nintendo DS by Namco was launched on June 12, 2007.[4] It has board-game style gameplay similar to Mario Party and features Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup competing with Mojo to get to the centre of the board, competing in minigames along the way.

Episode List

Main article: List of Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z episodes

It should be noted that the second opening makes reference to the PowerPuff Girls episode, "Super Zeroes", and features Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup in their alternate superhero outfits.

The first ending focuses on all the girls (mainly Blossom), with the remaining focusing on the individual girls.

Villains and Monsters

Most of the villains of Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z were normal, everyday humans/animals/organisms/objects, until the explosion of the chemical Z ray and the effect of the black lights (or Him's black particles,) transformed them into "Monsters." The black light is drawn to people, animals, organisms or inanimate objects that were dominated by negative emotions and not only affects the appearance of its victims and grants them powers, but it magnifies their desires and removes their moral inhibitions. In the more recent episodes, Him (Kare) can also inflict darkness in the same way as the black lights with a black demon powder, creating monsters in the process. Whenever these villains cause trouble, the Powerpuff Girls Z must apprehend them and, for the most part, turn them over to Professor to be restored to their normal form with the Chemical Z Ray. At other times, when the trouble surrounding the darkness is vanquished, the black spores will not usually go away on their own. In Episode 20, Mojo creates the Rowdyruff Boys, similar to the ones in the original show, but older.

Minor Allies

  • Goodenough Girls X, Ōedo Chakichaki Musume (大江戸ちゃきちゃき娘?, lit. "Genuine Great Edoite Girls" or "Leading Girls of the Great Edo") in the Japanese version: Three girls who protected Edo from Him, as revealed in episode 30 (Edo eventually became Tokyo City; see History of Tokyo). A long time ago in Townsville, when Him was terrorizing its citizens, a man named Professor Pithium (Kennai Hiraga in the Japanese version), who is modeled after Hiraga Gennai, created the special substance "Chemical X". In the Japanese version, it is called "Kennainum He," the original Chemical Z. Professor Pithium poured it on three girls: Momo, Omiya, and Okou. The substance changed their appearance, giving them new hairstyles (now similar to their present day counterparts) and kimonos (the bottom portion is shorter than normal, resembling mini skirts, the colors match the Powerpuff Girls Z, and their sashes are black with the symbols of the Powerpuff Girls Z), as well as their own powers and weapons. The three were given the name Goodenough Girls (Ōedo Chakichaki Musume in the Japanese version) and their purpose was to stop Him from causing more damage to Townsville. The three faced and successfully defeated Him, whose weakness to the cold became his undoing. Together with Professor Pithium, they were able to drain Him's powers and seal his body in a coffin. The Goodenough Girls can be seen as the heroines who preceded the present day Powerpuff Girls Z and may in fact be their ancestors. Because of his defeat, Him has a deep hatred towards the Goodenough Girls and directs that hatred towards the Powerpuff Girls Z for their resemblance to them. Similarly to the Steamypuff Girls from the original Powerpuff Girls cartoon, they both stopped a great villain from a previous era.
  • Momo (もも?, Seiyū: Emiri Katou, English Dub Voice: Nicole Bouma): The Goodenough Girls' version of Blossom and possible ancestor of Blossom. Her personality is a little different from Blossom's as she appears to act as the voice of reason (she tries to stop an argument between Omiya and Okou about who should say the most in their intro). Her hair is brown and her pony tail is shorter. Her weapon is a coin tied to a red thread and is used similarly to Blossom's Yo-yo. Her main attack is: "Special Move! Mitarashi Dango Attack".
  • Omiya (おみや?, Seiyū: Nami Miyahara, English Dub Voice: Maryke Hendrikse): The Goodenough Girls' version of Bubbles and possible ancestor of Bubbles. Her personality is similar to Bubbles' as she acts polite, enjoys her new kimono, and is very cheerful and innocent. Her hair style is similar to Bubbles' except that her pig tails are replaced with buns, and she wears a flower on her bangs (where the blue hair clip usually is when Bubbles transforms). Her weapon is a fan which allows her to blow gusts of wind at her opponent. Her main attack is: "Windy Fan".
  • Okou (おこう Okō?, Seiyū: Machiko Kawana, English Dub Voice: Kelly Metzger): The Goodenough Girls' version of Buttercup and possible ancestor of Buttercup. Her personality appears to be somewhat similar to Buttercup's as she argues with Omiya and, like Buttercup, enjoys the new power she received. Her bangs are similar to Buttercup's, but her hair is more tidy and, in comparison to the other girls, changes the least when she transforms. Her weapon is a mallet that is powerful enough to nearly deform Him on contact. Her main attack is: "Special Move! Daruma Otoshi".
  • Powerpuff Boys Z: Only appeared in episode 37. This team consists of Ken, Professor Utonium and Poochi. It was formed because the girls had to take the final exam, and the school principal didn't want them to transform during the exam. Ken, Professor Utonium and Poochi's alter-egos are Ken Kitazawa Z, Utonium Z and Peach Z respectively. They fought the Gangreen Gang, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Mojo Jojo and the Amoeba Boys. They won, but it was only luck. Ken Kitazawa Z has no main attacks and he uses gadgets like a chewing gum, a bowling ball and a broomstick to fight. Utomium Z, inspired by PowerProf from the original series, is the most powerful member of the team. He uses his cyber suit to fly and fires lasers from his gloves (Similar to Iron Man) and his forehead. His main attack is the "Uto Beam." Peach Z fights with a nunchaku made of bones. While he has no main attacks, Peach Z is roughly a combination of Bruce Lee and Yoda from Star Wars: Episode II in fighting style. He also wears an outfit similar to Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill.
  • Dy.Na.Mo Z: First shown in the second opening, it makes its first appearance in episode 50. Originally thought to be a fighting mech by the PPGZ, the Professor actually tells them that it's a time machine to be used to collect the white light to seal Him. Dy.Na.Mo Z is composed of three fighter craft that look like the heads of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup (the individual machines are never named). A homage to Go Nagai's Getter Robo series, Dy.Na.Mo Z's individual parts can combine into three different forms; a 'Blossom' mode (Getter-1), a 'Buttercup' mode (Getter-2), and a 'Bubbles' mode (Getter-3) (the forms are also never named). Like Getter-1, Blossom Mode is the standard mech and is also the most articulate of the three forms. Blossom controls it using a split two-handle bar similar to those used in modern airplanes. It is in this form, when the PPGZ were about to be attacked by Mojo's mech, that the white light gave life to Dy.Na.Mo Z allowing it to fight Mojo's mech without a pilot. In Buttercup Mode, it has a drill for the right hand and a hammer for her left. Buttercup controls the mech using a two-lever control system similar in design to the many mechs found in Real Robot anime series such as Gundam. The final mode, Bubbles Mode, is a tracked mech with clamp-like hands (similar to Getter-3). Bubbles controls this form with a steering wheel. In all three modes, Dy.Na.Mo Z's main ability is "Time Warp". Professor Utonium, Ken, and Peach are able to keep in contact with Dy.Na.Mo Z through different time eras by using a Sync Helmet which transmits their voices to Dy.Na.Mo Z. Dy.Na.Mo Z is not without her glitches. While time traveling, the girls have no control as to where the time portal will open up in the target era. This proves problematic, as they tend to crash into objects or appear in inconvenient locations like underwater. A short circuit in the time engine (caused by Him as a way to stall for time) can reprogram Dy.Na.Mo Z to travel to alternate universes.

About :

The Powerpuff Girls Z, known in Japan as Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z (出ましたっ!パワパフガールズZ Demashita! Pawapafu Gāruzu Zetto?, roughly They're Here! Powerpuff Girls Z, PPGZ), is a Japanese television anime adaption based upon the American animated television series The Powerpuff Girls.

The anime is produced by Cartoon Network Japan, and Aniplex and animated by Toei Animation; with Yoshiya Ayugai and Mark Buhaj of Cartoon Network, Hiromi Seki, Hideo Katsumata producing, Megumu Ishiguro supervising, Hiroyuki Kakudō directing, Yoshio Urasawa (of Tokyo Pig and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo 's chief writer) story composing and Miho Shimogasa (of Sailor Moon fame) doing character design. As production occurs in Japan, Craig McCracken, the original creator of The Powerpuff Girls, is not directly involved in this project.

The series, an anime reimagining of The Powerpuff Girls, debuted in Japan on July 1, 2006, on TV Tokyo, where the Japanese version of the original Powerpuff Girls premiered, as well as its affiliates, replacing Sugar Sugar Rune in its time slot, Saturday at 7:00 a.m. JST. Its final episode aired on June 30, 2007. Its time was replaced by Fight Tension School on July 7, 2007. Since August 1, 2006, it has also aired on AT-X.[1] Since April 1, 2007, the program airs on Cartoon Network in Japan.[2]

The initial order was for about 52 episodes at 30 minutes each. Recently, Nami Miyahara, the voice actress of Miyako/Bubbles, posted an entry on her blog in which she mentions working with the staff and cast of the series after having not worked on the series for so long.[when?] As to whether or not this is referring to more episodes, an OVA, or a movie being produced is currently unknown.[citation needed] Cartoon Network has said it will be showing the anime worldwide. Taiwan became the first country to air the show outside Japan when the show aired there on January 21, 2008, since Taiwan is a country where Japanese pop culture is popular.[citation needed] The Ocean Group has also dubbed the official English version of the show and has been shown on several English-speaking markets; it is unknown if the show will make an appearance in the United States (a few clips from the English dub were recently leaked onto YouTube). A Latin-American dub premiered on August 2, 2008, although a pre-premiere was done on July 13, 2008. Most of the original dubbing cast returned to reprise their roles. Except in episode 41, none of the voices from the Japanese dub of the original Powerpuff Girls returned to reprise their roles for this series. Kazuki Kosakai was the sole exception, and guest-starred as the narrator. His voice is heard at the end of first part of episode 41. The show is currently screening in Australia on Cartoon Network and uses the Japanese title of 'Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z'

an interview with The Big Spoon on March 2008, Tara Strong, the voice of Bubbles in the original series, stated that Craig McCracken had approached her about acting on a few episodes of the anime[3].

The manga of the same name was introduced in the August 2006 issue of Ribon, published in July 3, 2006.

Story :

In order to stop an ecological disaster, Ken Kitazawa used Chemical Z, a new form of the Professor's original substance Chemical X, to destroy a giant glacier. The Chemical Z is caused by Peach's accident of dropping a rice cake [disambiguation needed] which had dissolved in the chemical. However, the impact of Chemical Z caused several black and white lights to appear in the skies above Tokyo City. Three ordinary girls, Momoko, Miyako, and Kaoru, were engulfed in white lights and soon became the new defenders of Tokyo City: the Powerpuff Girls Z. However, the numerous black lights caused others to turn to the side of evil. And so, using their ultra super powers, Hyper-Blossom (Momoko), Rolling Bubbles (Miyako), and Powered Buttercup (Kaoru) dedicated their lives to defending Tokyo City from the likes of those swayed by the black lights and Him's black particles.

Characters :

Powerpuff Girls Z

The Powerpuff Girls Z are the main heroines of the series. They are three thirteen-year-old girls from three different families, unlike the original Powerpuff Girls who were sisters created by Professor Utonium and attended kindergarten. When Chemical Z exploded into multiple black and white lights, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup received white lights when they protected nearby children from it. Under the condition to keep their identity a secret as long as their needs were met, the girls transform into the Powerpuff Girls Z to protect Tokyo City (New Townsville in the English dub). Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup use a yo-yo, a bubble wand and a hammer as their weapons, respectively. In addition, they all have basic abilities such as super strength, super speed, flight, weapon materialization, and atmosphere resistance. Their costumes also have some special abilities, including the ability to fit anyone of any size and withstand strong physical impact. The girls' battle cry is "Powerpuff Girls Z!" in both their civilian and superhero garb and yet somehow manage to hide their secret identities from their classmates and relatives.

  • Momoko Akatsutsumi (赤堤ももこ Akatsutsumi Momoko?) Blossom/Hyper-Blossom (ハイパー・ブロッサム Haipā Burossamu?) Seiyū: Emiri Katō - English Dub Voice: Nicole Bouma.

Blossom is the first member of the Powerpuff Girls Z squad. She transforms using the phrase "Blossom" and fights villains with a yo-yo. Like the original, she is the self-proclaimed leader of the team. She is a bit boy-crazy. She is very familiar with the maho shōjo genre, along with some typical anime/super sentai concepts and is famous for being a "hero maniac" in school, especially by Buttercup. Blossom also has a strong appetite for candies and other sweets, and spends much of her time snacking. Because of this, most of her attacks are named after food. In addition, she dislikes vegetables and is afraid of bugs and dentists. Although she can be easily distracted and has been known to whine, Blossom tries her best to protect New Townsville, lead the girls, and help her friends regardless of her situation. Often she can be very clever and crafty when needed, usually being the first to come up with a plan to trick or defeat villains/monsters. She is the elder daughter of Hachizou and Kakiko Akadutsumi and has a younger sister named Casey. She is represented by hearts. She dreams of being married in the future.

  • Miyako Goutokuji (豪徳寺みやこ Gōtokuji Miyako?) Bubbles/Rolling Bubbles (ローリング・バブ ルス Rōringu Baburusu?) Seiyū: Nami Miyahara - English Dub Voice: Maryke Hendrikse.

Bubbles is the second member of the Powerpuff Girls Z team. She transforms using the phrase "Bubbles" and uses a bubble wand staff as a weapon. In comparison to the original Bubbles, who was known for being the most childish of the girls, Bubbles is quite mature, as she was the most successful at being a mother to Ken, but she's the ditsiest member of the three, often appearing a bit clueless, and doesn't seem to understand her powers completely, along with a few other things. She is the only member of the girls who, like some villains, end a few sentences with a phrase in the Japanese version. Her phrase is desu wa. She is very friendly and polite, as she always uses honorifics at the end of names, although she too can be angered when provoked and is not above pretending to cry to get what she wants. Trendy and stylish, Bubbles enjoys shopping and fashion the most. Although she is popular with the boys at school, she already has feelings for Cody (Taka-chan), a boy who saved her from bullies when she was six who she later visits in the hospital everyday. She also uses curlers (3 balls on each pigtail) when going to bed. Bubbles remains typified, however, by the original's compassion, gentleness and innocence, as well as her love of animals and her favorite doll, Octi. She lives with only her grandmother. Her parents live in Kyoto. She is represented by bubbles. She dreams of being a fashion designer or model in the future.

  • Kaoru Matsubara (松原かおる Matsubara Kaoru?) Buttercup/Powered Buttercup (パワード・バター カップ Pawādo Batākappu?) Seiyū: Machiko Kawana - English Dub Voice: Kelly Metzger.

Buttercup is the third and final member of the Powerpuff Girls Z team. She transforms using the phrase "Buttercup" and uses a Daruma Otoshi hammer. She hates skirts and other girly things, which is the reason why she was reluctant to join the group. In fact, she even hates girls who are too feminine. Like the original Buttercup, this Buttercup is a tomboy and is the most easily enraged of the three. Famous for being the most athletic girl in school, Buttercup enjoys all kinds of sports and spends a great deal of time watching sports on television. She is especially good at soccer. She speaks with a hard and masculine edge and rarely uses honorifics when speaking, though she will speak a little more like a girl in later episodes. Her greatest fear is ghosts. Buttercup also has a slight crush on Butch Z after holding her kiss until told she could stop. Buttercup lives with her father, who is a professional masked-wrestler, mother and two brothers, one older and one younger. She is represented by stars. She dreams of being a professional wrestler like her dad in the future. Her jacket is yellow-green.

Family Members :

Kuriko Akatsutsumi (赤堤 くりこ Akazutsumi Kuriko?) / Casey Akadutsumi Blossom's 8-year-old sister, Casey seems to be just as hyper and addicted to the sentai/hero genre as her older sister. She is very independent and likes to pretend she is a heroine. She seems to admire the Powerpuff Girls Z and wishes to be a heroine just like them (she tried to defeat Mojo's robot with a broom). She likes Bubbles and Buttercup, but she does not really like Blossom (who is actually the alter-ego of Momoko). She also seems to be looking for new ways to annoy her sister. She appears to be quite interested in Ken, especially when she realizes that he knows her sister. Similarly, Ken seems interested in her because of her resemblance to Blossom. English Dub Voice: Erin Matthews

Kiyoko Gotokuji (豪徳寺清子 Gōtokuji Kiyoko?) Bubbles' grandmother, generally referred to as Obachan, who Bubbles lives with in a large traditional style house. She is gentle sounding and usually gets distracted by nostalgic things, but she can also be strict when it comes to manners. You also never see her eyes ever open, as they are always closed to portray a happy feeling. She is a traditional Japanese woman. English Dub Voice: Tabitha St. Germain

Tokio Matsubara Buttercup's father, a professional wrestler and loving family man who is never seen without his mask. He left for Mexico when Buttercup was young, and studied the art of the Luchador after experiencing a losing streak that could have cost him his career. His teacher was severely injured in what is implied to be his final match. Buttercup's father was given his teacher's mask, which in true lucha spirit, he never removes (except when taking a shower). Since then, Buttercup has forgotten what her father's face looks like. There is no photograph in their family album that shows what his real face looks like either, mirroring Miss Bellum's running gag. After he wins the match against Panda Mask, Buttercup finally got to see her father's face for the first time since before he left for Mexico. According to Buttercup, her father is extremely handsome, and is no doubt why her mother fell in love with her father. English Dub Voice: Brian Drummond

Mitsuko Matsubara She is the mom of Sam, Buttercup and Dave Matsubara. She is a very good cook and is exceptionally gentle in contrast to her husband and kids. She also likes to smile a lot. English Dub Voice: Jillian Michaels

Sho Matsubara/Dave He is Sam and Buttercup's big brother. He is quite a bit innocent. English Dub Voice: David Hurwitz

Dai Matsubara/Sam He is Buttercup and Dave's little brother. We don't see him much but all we know is he is rough and tumble. English Dub Voice: Kathleen Barr
